Lets be honest. Opiate withdrawal home remedies that actually work are few and far between.

After all, most people can’t afford or don’t want to go to rehab or detox clinic. Which means most are forced to face the agony of withdrawal at home by themselves, with little knowledge of how to feel better.

Thankfully, I’ve found some solutions, I’ve listed ten home remedies for opiate withdrawal symptoms below…

10 Opiate Withdrawal Home Remedies For Fast Relief

1. Take a Bath or Soak in a Hot Tub

Baths, hot tubs, and showers offer great withdrawal relief during detox. Hot water is a good temporary at home remedy for acute withdrawal symptoms. Hot water can relieve the constant tension & uncomfortableness in your muscles (even if it’s only momentary). It also works as a sleep aid.

And don’t forget about local lakes, rivers, hot springs or swimming pools – all should boost your mood and give some relief.

2. Get Sun or Go Tan

When you’re laying around in agony, waiting to feel better, the sun can help. Lay out on your deck, patio or backyard and let the sun’s healing rays warm and invigorate your fatigued body! The sun feels very good during withdrawal. Plus it’s a great source of Vitamin D, which almost half the population is deficient in.

Strong bright light also produces serotonin – which can improve mood and help sleep. So don’t forget that the sun is your ally if you’re hurting from opioid withdrawal.

3. Try Opioid Withdrawal-Relieving Supplements

There are only a handful of supplements that actually work well for opiate withdrawal symptom relief. Trying to find these supplements often ends in disappointment. Fortunately, I’ve found three that work very well; They are…

1) Kratom for cravings and energy
2) Phenibut for anxiety relief and sleep
3) Ibogaine for finally ending addiction

4. Meditation

Meditation has long been known to offer a wide range of health benefits including, improved thinking, increased self-control, greater awareness, and even greater immunity. But the problem with meditation is learning how to do it – requires the patience of a zen munk. The process is clumsy, difficult, and requires infinitely more focus than most of us have. Enter Holosync, a specialized audio program developed to take the work out of meditation.

A PERSONAL STORY ON MEDITATION

Before beginning Holosync I’d been through a dramatic breakup – I was filled with sadness, anxiety, dread and self doubt. I was struggling to hold it together when a family member who had success using Holosyncrecommended I give it a shot.

After 9 days of using the program for 30 minutes a day I began to notice subtle changes. For instance I felt greater self control in my life and my emotions were kept in check. After 30 days of use my ability to think calmly and collectively was improved. But the most profound effect of all was my dramatically improved self-awareness. This awareness helped me to get outside of myself & examine the problems that plagued my life – It allowed me to act rationally – rather than emotionally.

With that said, I don’t think Holosync is for everyone but I’m certain it can help some. Visit the Holosync website to learn more.

5. Eat a Alkaline Heavy Diet – Whole Foods, Grains, Vegetables & Fruits

“A man may esteem himself happy when that which is his food is also his medicine.” – Henry David Thoreau

vegetables for opioid addictionMost people who abuse opiates and drugs eat terrible and are deficient in many vital nutrients essential for optimal health. For example many people don’t eat in the morning, so when they take their opioids they get maximum absorption. If you’ve been doing this and you don’t repair your body, you could feel your symptoms for a long time.

Most people aren’t aware of the massive amounts of junk they pile into their stomachs each day. Your body wasn’t made to to break down an endless stream of processed food, preservatives and dangerous taste additives like MSG (monosodium glutamate), pesticides and chemicals every day.

If you commit to eating a healthy diet of vegetables, fruits, whole grains and chicken you’ll find your energy levels improve and your health problems will begin to heal. When you improve your eating habits, you improve all aspects of your health.

6. Lift Weights or Exercise Hard to Release “Feel Good” Endorphins

Exercise is probably the single best natural way to produce endorphins – which are your body’s own opiates. But to release these feel good chemicals you must exercise vigorously. The stronger the physical demands you place on your body, the greater the release of endorphins. Weight training is definitely one of the best possible home remedies for opiate withdrawal – regardless if you’re male or female. Read how weight training can help you overcome addiction.

7. Get a Massage

Massages are amazing for opiate withdrawal symptoms. Not a lot of things feel better. Massages gets deep into your muscle tissue and can release tightness, muscle aches, back spasms and relieve pain. And be sure to drink as much water as you possibly can. The more you drink the better you’ll feel. Try to drink at least eight 16 once water bottles a day.

8. Take Vitamins and Minerals to Restore Your Depleted Brain Chemicals – Dopamine and Serotonin

When you get high on opiates, 2-10x more dopamine is released vs. what your natural rewards system releases. To compensate for these continued surges of dopamine your body will automatically begin producing less.

The longer you use opioids for, the less natural dopamine your body will produce. That’s a big reason why people are so down during the detox. The brains natural chemicals, neurotransmitters have not had time to rebuild or recover.

Luckily, there are a ton of natural vitamins and minerals that can sharpen your mind and heal your body during opiate withdrawal and recovery. How to restore brain chemicals – dopamine and serotonin after addiction

9. Acupuncture for Fast Temporary Relief

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese therapy used to relieve pain and treat stress-related health conditions. According to it’s theory, energy, known as chi, flows through the body along pathways called meridians, and any blockage of this energy causes illness. Traditional Chinese medical practitioners believe acupuncture unblocks and balances the flow of chi, to restore health. During acupuncture, very thin needles are inserted into the skin at specific points or meridians on the body.

  • Systematic studies have shown that acupuncture does decrease stress-related muscular pain.
  • Functional MRI studies have found that acupuncture modulates brain regions regulating pain and emotion.
  • Studies indicate that  acupuncture treatment increases circulation and stimulates the release of endorphins, the body’s own opiates.

Acupuncture works well as an opiate withdrawal home remedy. It’s excellent for temporary withdrawal relief and can help you break addiction, long term.

10. Learn, Create Goals, Find What You Enjoy

Believe it or not, learning builds self-confidence. The more you learn, the greater your knowledge and the greater your skill will become. By simply learning more, you gain huge advantages on your competition. So get interested in something new — read a book, study a subject, go back to school and get excited about the opportunities in life again!
