Addiction can surprise and kill….

This epidemic never seems to stop to amaze me. One of my best friend younger brother passed away last month. He thought it was a heart attack considering the shape his brother was in. When he got the call from his sister on the toxicology report he was floored!

He never knew his younger brother was taking Oxycontin, let along overdose on them!

A growing epidemic of overdoses of prescription painkillers is leading to a record numbers of deaths, especially among women, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“More women are dying at rates that we have never seen before,” CDC Director Dr. Thomas Frieden said about the findings, which were released earlier this month.

“Stopping this epidemic in women—and men—is everyone’s business,” Frieden added.

More Americans now die from painkillers than from heroin and cocaine combined, and since 2008, prescription drug-induced deaths have outstripped those from automobile accidents, according to the CDC.

The CDC’s latest figures show that 16,500 people died from overdoses tied to common narcotic pain relievers — such as Vicodin, OxyContin, Opana and methadone — in 2010. Of those, 40% were women.

We here at Angel Face Foundation are trying to bring awareness to this epidemic. More of our people are dying here in America than any other part of this world. Americans consume 80% of the worlds Opiates! More Americans die of drug overdose then our soldiers in war across the world. In fact in Afghanistan, before are troops were there the poopy fields were being burned down by the Tally Ban, and Big Pharma had a short supply for their drugs!

Don’t take my word for this, look into this yourself, Google this and you will find this to be a fact! The war on drugs has been set up to fail and to have the people depending on both Big Pharma and the government to solve these problems when in reality, it is really about the share holder’s profits!

We here at Angel Face Foundation believe that it will be up to the private sector to have any change to help reduce these numbers of casualties , one person at a time if need be, peace and God speed 🙂

We are here to share our experience with drug addiction how it affects both the addict and their families along with their friends. Bringing awareness about the war on drugs an how it has failed in many ways. You are welcome to comment even if you might disagree with the post, we here are a free speech zone. We will post it as long it's constructive towards solutions rather then being to harsh and judgmental causing it to be part of the problem.
